Specialized Services

Program Overview

The Centre offers an intensive "Specialized Services" intervention program for those children who meet the criteria as defined in the Family Support for Children with Disabilities Act and have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. This program can include aide supports, speech-language services, occupational therapy services, behavioural consultation, psychology assessment/consultation, physiotherapy services and case management services. The amount and type of supports each child receives is dependent on each child’s needs.

Services provided at the Centre are focused on increasing independence and connections to the community. Core characteristics of ASD are targeted including communication and socialization skills, behaviour, physical and motor development, cognition, and self-help skills and adaptive functioning.
